John Calipari took UMass from being one of the lowest ranked teams in Division I to the Final Four. After his departure, the Minutemen slipped back into relative obscurity in the A-10. Despite fears that Memphis would follow the same pattern, the Tigers are going to remain competitive in the hunt for big-time recruits. They proved that with the addition of five-star big man Latavious Williams yesterday – and they’re still a definite possibility for Lance Stephenson.

First, USC lost their most highly touted prospect since O.J. Mayo when Renardo Sidney de-committed for Mississippi State out of the blue. And now, the Trojans’ next-best commit, Noel Johnson has re-opened his recruitment. With LaMont “Mo Mo” Jones and Derrick Williams as the only two ranked prospects remaining on USC’s radar, should Trojans fans be worried?

Within the last couple of days, we’ve seen a monster turn-of-events in the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes. First, reports came out that he’s turned down both of his top suitors St. John’s and Maryland. On Sunday, it seemed like Memphis was going to make up for the loss of Xavier Henry with a commitment from Lance. But since then, Arizona has come in guns blazing after snaring fellow New Yorker Kevin Parrom.
