46 HS Players Selected for Team USA Mini-Camp

46 of the country’s most prominent young high school players have accepted invitations to the 2012 USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team mini-camp on Oct. 6-7 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The USA Basketball newcomers will be directed by Don Showalter (Iowa City H.S., Iowa), who has won four straight gold medals as head coach of the USA Developmental National Team from 2009-2012.

The mini-camp, which will be utilized to help USA Basketball train and evaluate members of the classes of 2015 and 2016 in preparation for upcoming Developmental National Team events. MORE >

Team USA U18 National Team Announced

Yesterday, USA Basketball announced its U18 National Team 12-man roster that will train and leave for Brazil and the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship on June 12 (the tourney is June 16-20).

Four of the eight teams competing in the event will qualify for next summer’s 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship. The other programs competeing with the U.S. are Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
