Here at highschoolhoop.com, we have the definitive rankings of the Top 50 Players in the Nation, regardless of class. We’re going to pay homage to the best America has to offer by counting down to No. 1, giving each player a moment to shine.
Next up is #46 Jordin Mayes, a 6-2, 175 lbs. shooting guard for Westchester High (Los Angeles, Calif.). Mayes is a really sweet-shooting guard who lets the game come to him. This clip is a perfect testament to his skill set – over the course of the game, he breaks an opponents’ back by whapping his feathery jumper on every open look. But he doesn’t force it.
To this point, Mayes has been the prize of some of the less prestigious high majors – Colorado, Utah, San Diego, USC and Cal. But the big dogs have come on as of late – Arizona, UCLA, Florida, and Kansas.
What do you think about Mayes game?
Mayes is the real deal. Saw him light up Lincoln (NY) at the prime time shootout. Probably has the best jumper of any high school kid in the nation. Westchester’s PG Dominique O’Connor is tough too.
