Montverde (Fla.) Academy probably should have been following Winter Park (Fla.) combo guard Austin Rivers on Twitter. Perhaps they would have been better prepared for what Rivers had in store for them in his season opener.
@AustinRivers25: Gameday!!!!! Today is my actual first game of my last high school season! I’m going off!”
Rivers backed that up with 46 points in a 102-92 win over the Eagles. In the process, Rivers, a Duke commit who is the top ranked player in the HSH National Top 50, eclipsed the 2,000-point mark for his career. Check out the video highlights of Rivers’ big night after the jump:

Living beyond the hype. Austin Rivers helps teams play better… enough said.
Austin Rivers is the MAN!!!!! GO DUKE!!!!!
Austin Rivers enough said like my man Dick Vitale said!! People always talk about Duke getting all the calls but I totally disagree. Tar Heels fans remember when yall dominated and now it is just Duke’s time to shine so haters get over it. Go Duke!!
