Eric Bledsoe to Decide Between Kentucky and Memphis Today
Words. Jason Jordan

The best available point guard in the class of 2009 not named John Wall is Parker High’s (Ala.) Eric Bledsoe, a 6-foot point guard. Today he’ll choose between Kentucky and Memphis.
Word is that Bledsoe is set to pick the Cats, which is a bit puzzling because both schools are on Wall’s shortlist as well.
Now either Bledsoe knows something that we don’t know or Kentucky head coach John Calipari is an even more gifted salesman than he already gets credit for because Wall, a 6-4 point guard from Raleigh, N.C., isn’t going to Memphis.
But he is going to the NBA, and most NBA Draft projection sites say he’ll be the first player taken in the 2010 Draft.
That leaves little doubt about who’s starting at the point if both choose Kentucky.
The flipside is that if he chooses to join Bledsoe at Kentucky, all indications are that Wall will only be there for a year. Bledsoe is more of a four-year type of player.
Still, Bledsoe’s expressed discontent in the past about being the Plan B for a handful of schools who would rather have Wall at the controls.
Conventional wisdom says that if Bledsoe chooses Kentucky, Wall will go elsewhere.
But the mere fact that both are deciding this late in the game means both of their recruitment processes have been anything but conventional.
