Team Canada’s Cory Joseph Is A Beast In adidas Nations Championship
Words. dimemag

You couldn’t have asked for a better championship game to wrap up an outstanding week at adidas Nations in Dallas, Texas. The intensity level throughout the game was unparalleled, as the week’s leading scorer, Team Canada’s Cory Joseph (22.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game) looked to continue his incredible play. Jared Sullinger and Team USA had other thoughts.
Sullinger lead the USA 2010 team with a remarkable performance of 22 points, 10 rebounds and an assist. Also contributing for the USA team were Josh Smith with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Josh Hairston with 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Joseph, who matched his previous tournament high of 33 points, along 6 rebounds and 6 assists, was outstanding, as the game came down to a failed buzzer beating three-point attempt for the win. Giving him a helping hand were Brady Heslip, who had an impressive three-point shooting performance putting up 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists including a tournament-high 6 threes.
The adidas Nations Third Place Game was incredibly hard fought and one of the best of the tournament. None the less, the U.S team pulled off the victory over the Europeans whom did not have Evan Fournier, their most productive player on the floor.
Leading the way for the USA 2011 team were LeBryan Nash who scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Marquis Teague who had 12 points, 3 rebounds and an assist, and Rodney Hood who scored 7 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 2 assists.
Taking charge for the Europeans in the absence of Fournier were Hristo Zahariev who put up 16 points, 2 rebounds and two assists and Ignacio Llovet who had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in what was a great effort from the European team.
