Luke Cothron backs out on N.C. State
Words. Jason Jordan

Flora MacDonald Academy (Red Springs, N.C.) star Luke Cothron has officially de-committed from North Carolina State, effective earlier this week.
Some say the announcement was a mere formality, as Cothron had long been considered a very soft verbal commitment in Raleigh, N.C. Why? The popular theory is that Cothron wants to play significant minutes as a freshman and worries that if the Pack sign Word of God Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) forward C.J. Leslie, a McDonald’s All-American, his playing time will be affected. Cothron’s coach Dearrick Bond alluded to this in a recent interview with the News and Observer.
“If C.J. were to commit to Kentucky tomorrow, you’d probably see Kentucky come off (Cothron’s) list and N.C. State at the top again,” Bond told the newspaper.
Still, rarely do players de-commit only to re-commit, and what we’re hearing is that Cothron going back to N.C. State is “highly unlikely.”
Connecticut, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Mississippi have all shown interest in making the Wolfpack’s loss their gain. Cothron, a 6-8 forward, averaged 30 points and 13 rebounds this season for Flora MacDonald.

I hate that we lose this kid, I am sure he would be a great addition.
But I really hate it for this kid. I just hope he dosen’t end up at Kentucky. Sidney Lowe doesn’t only see his players as players, they are family. He really cares about his kids, and you can see it in the state players here at the end of the year, really working hard for him.
John calipari is a very good X O coach, but he obviously doesn’t care about his kids. His Tenure as a coach has been marred in scandal and a lack of disciplin. I am not saying he is a bad guy, he might be, but he has never been caught. The consensus is that he just kind looks the other way, but the scandals follow him around. Plus all you have to do is watch a game and you can see that his players dont like him.
Mark turgeon is a fine coach (texas A&M) He really cares about his players and alot of his players have said that he really cares almost like a father.
Good luck to you buddy, I hope you reconsider.
Why would we want a player that’s scared to compete for playing time? I’d rather have CJ anyway.
GO STATE!!!
Come to State CJ, we love you.
SOUNDS LIKE THIS KID IS WAKING UP BEFORE ITS TOO LATE, WISE CHOICE. HARROW IS OVER-RATED AND IS TOO COCKY AND LESLIE WILL NOT GO TO STATE. HE WILL COME TO HIS SENSES ALSO EVENTUALLY
