McAdoo out with fractured wrist

James McAdoo

Norfolk Christian (Va.) forward James McAdoo will be sidelined until mid-April with a fractured right wrist. McAdoo, a junior North Carolina commit, got undercut in the state title game two weeks ago and came down on his wrist “awkwardly.”

“Honestly, I didn’t even know anything was wrong,” said McAdoo, who scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Norfolk Christian to the state title. “It just kept hurting so I got it checked out and that’s how I found out.”

It’s the second significant injury McAdoo has suffered in eight months. Last July, he underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. That kept McAdoo sidelined for four months, making his recent diagnosis a silver lining of sorts.

“I was glad to hear that I wouldn’t be out too long with this one,” said McAdoo, who is ranked No. 13 in the HSH national top 50. “It’s not all bad. Now I can work to get my left hand even better.”
