Words. Austin Burton

Jared Sullinger
In the weeks leading up to the nation’s most high-profile high school All-American game, McDonald’s announced the Morgan Wootten Player of the Year finalists.
The Wootten trophy is given annual to one senior boy’s player and one girl’s player who doesn’t just excel on the court, but also in the classroom and the community. The winners will be announced on March 10. The finalists:
BOYS
* Harrison Barnes (Ames, Iowa) North Carolina
* Kyrie Irving (St. Patrick – Elizabeth, N.J.) Duke
* Perry Jones (Duncanville, Texas) Baylor
* Brandon Knight (Pine Crest – Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) Undecided
* Jared Sullinger (Northland – Columbus, Ohio) Ohio State
* Tristan Thompson (Findlay Prep – Henderson, Nev.) Texas
GIRLS
* Chelsea Gray (St. Mary’s – Stockton, Calif.) Duke
* Bria Hartley (North Babylon, N.Y.) UConn
* Kaneisha Horn (Ramsay – Birmingham, Ala.) Alabama
* Natasha Howard (Waite – Toledo, Ohio) Florida State
* Chiney Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas) Stanford
* Odyssey Sims (MacArthur – Irving, Texas) Baylor

I don’t think I would have put Perry Jones on this list. Probably replace him with Tobias Harris.
By the way, if you are looking for entertainment. This kid Ryan Harrow will be the next fan pleaser in the NBA. Check out is vid diary: http://www.courtcred.com/2010/03/ryan-harrow-welcome-to-my-world-episode-3/
Not really sure why Jereme Richmond doesn’t get any love in the rankings. Kid plays like a mix between to Tayshun Prince/Josh Smith, but not as laid back. He should easily be top 10 in such a weak class, but i guess the lower he is the more exciting it will be when he does do something great.
I dont understand why T. Thompson is up here and he’s not even the best player on his team, Corey Joseph is!
The kid can play, he’s a little versitile…handle a little, good passer, good rebounder, nice basketball iq. His negatives, cant shoot jump shots (including free throws), not overly athletic, he’s not quick off his feets, needs 2 b a better finisher(needs more strength), too foul prone, very slow of foot.
He’ll be a solid player around alot of talent, but not someone who should b the folcal point of any offense. T. harris name should b in front of his. He’s a energy/garbage guy.
Again he’s a solid player, but not top 5 or 6 type player. C.J. Leslie is a better player than he is, he just doesnt play on a better team. C.J. is a baller, with a KG type of motor combined with an array of skills!!
At the end of the day it doesnt matter who was or wasnt nominated, bc its between Harrison Barnes and Harrison Barnes. No really, J. Sullinger is a close second and then B. Knight, both of whom r great players in their own right.
