Sterling Gibbs to the ACC

Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) point guard Sterling Gibbs used his Facebook page to announce that he was choosing Maryland over Indiana, Florida, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia and Wake Forest.
Gibbs, a junior, was a member of USA Basketball’s U16 team last summer, which won the gold medal at the U16 World Championships in Argentina. With Seton Hall Prep, Gibbs led the Pirates to a 26-3 record this season and averaged 20 points and eight assists. Gibbs is the Terps’ first commit for 2011.
