Christ School (Arden, N.C.) center Marshall Plumlee ended his recruitment Saturday and picked Duke over Virginia. Plumlee said that North Carolina was also in the mix, but with no solid offer on the table, he picked between the Cavs and the Blue Devils.
The youngest of the three 7-foot Plumlee brothers, Marshall will join Miles and Mason, who just won a national title at Duke.
The day before he committed, I talked to Marshall and asked if Virginia would ultimately lose out because they weren’t in the ACC’s upper echelon. Plumlee burst into laughter and said, “Wow, that’s direct! I guess that would be a little awkward, aye? We’ve talked about playing against each other and we joke about it, but my brothers don’t think it’s too funny. They want us all to play together. I’m gonna make the best decision for me.”
Plumlee joins Benedictine High (Richmond, Va.) swingman Michael Gbinije and Brandon High (Miss.) power forward Tyler Adams to form Duke’s 2011 class to this point.

I prefer Drummond or Coleman anyday over these plumlees, hands down..
Have they actually committed to UNC?
Wow! I hadn’t heard about this one… Dude sucks!
The way we need front court help…..! He is a hustler and solid defender,is working on his offensive game.
May not fit our style, with so many of the talented youngsters in the 1,2 and 3 positions….u want 2 b sure on a kid, and they werent.
Even if they were, he was a dukie once miles signed there, hands down! But he could have given us some size and defense, and with kendall, d.strickland,r.bullock, pj…it would have been real easy for him to score 10-12ppg off the back while rebounding and blocking shots, while shooting 60-65% from the floor. Kendall is gonna get u 3-4 layups every game, with the shooters spreading the court and the unselfisness of strickland(who’s also a playmaker), drew, bullock…!
The minutes would have been there, and its a whole lot easier having someone create offense for u until u develop an offense for yourself.
He could have a hard time getting consistant minutes over there, he could have complemented J.McAdoo really nice.
Good Luck to the kid though!
No sweat off our back, “ON TO THE NEXT ONE”!
I didnt realize he was so skinny, the boy needs to eat something, and fast!!!!!!!!
