Carson to Arizona State: Get better players

Words.

Jahii Carson

While most of the top high school players in the country look forward to making their college decisions official during the NCAA’s early signing period in November, Mesa (Ariz.) point guard Jahii Carson will be looking to see who else Arizona State — where he has verbally committed — can reel in from the 2011 class to join him.

“I won’t be signing in November. I’m gonna wait until the spring,” said Carson. “I want to see if they can get some more talented players to join me. If not, I may want to explore other options.

“I just don’t want to lock myself into a situation that I can’t get out of if I decide that I want to go in another direction.”

One of the big-time players that the Sun Devils are pursuing is Taft High School (Woodland Hills, Calif.) forward DeAndre Daniels.

When asked for a percentage of the likelihood that he would end up a Sun Devil, Carson replied, “I’d say 90 percent. I just want to make sure the situation is still the best situation for me.”

I hope Daniels commits to AZ State because it’s always great to see even rivalries.

  2. Washington is the other school still on his list. UW will be the best team in the pac 10 with the top 5 recruit Tony Wroten coming in Carson’s class to Washington
