Three players in the HSH National Top 50 ended their recruitment live on ESPNU Thursday; two deciding to team up in Texas and another also taking his talent to the Big 12.
Westchester Country Day (High Point, N.C.) teammates Quincy Miller, a forward who is ranked No. 2, and Deuce Bello, a wing who is ranked No. 33, announced for Baylor, while Lincoln High (Dallas, Tex.) forward LeBryan Nash, who is ranked No. 13, picked Oklahoma State.
“I’ll be taking my services to Baylor University,” said Miller.
Added Bello: “I’ll be going to Baylor too.”
Miller was by far the biggest get for Scott Drew’s Bears. He had arguably the most dominant summer of any player on the AAU circuit averaging 32 points a game, and more recently, Miller averaged 30 points and 12 rebounds a game at the ScoutsFocus Elite 80 in Greensboro, N.C. Bello has the best high-wire act of any player in the country, regardless of class, and has consistently improved his jump shooting ability.
“We have a great bond and we help each other out,” Miller said on ESPNU. “Baylor is a great spot for us. We’re gonna be ready and we’re gonna be the best next year.”
Nash said that one of the reasons he chose Oklahoma State was because he would “have the ball in most hands most of the time.”
“Travis Ford recruited me so long and I loved everything about the school,” said Nash, who announced his pick by breaking out a giant orange foam cowboy hat. “I think I’ll fit into that system. I just love it!”
