Louisville Nabs Elite SG Anton Gill

Big news broke yesterday for Rick Pitino and Louisville when elite Class of 2013 shooting guard Anton Gill (Ravenscroft School, Raleigh, N.C.) announced that he was going to be a Cardinal.
This is a huge get for Rick the Ruler – Gill is a 6-2 combo guard with athleticism and the ability to knock down shots from deep (watch the video below – he’ll pull his lefty J from anywhere on the court).
From the Courier-Journal.com‘s conversation with ESPN’s Dave Telep about Gill:
“He’s been hurt over the last year, so his play has been a little up and down,” ESPN analyst Dave Telep said. “But he has finally started to get healthy. He’s eventually going to be a combo guard, and he can really score.
“This guy is going to play his best basketball in college. He’s a really good finisher and can get into the lane. He’s going to be a good one.”
Telep said Gill is on pace to break the Ravenscroft High School scoring record held by Duke standout Ryan Kelly.
He also had scholarship offers from East Carolina, Florida State, Wake Forest, Miami, Charlotte, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, South Florida, Xavier and Rutgers and said North Carolina was showing a lot of interest.
