Illinois Gets Chicago Star Kendrick Nunn
Words. Patrick Cassidy

In what can best be described as a relative recruiting coup, Illinois received a verbal commitment from Chicago high school star Kendrick Nunn (Simeon Rice) over the weekend. [Read how Kendrick follows in Derrick Rose's footsteps.]
How big of a deal is this? For Illini head coach John Groce, snapping up a top talent in-state and keeping him from other suitors like Ohio State and Marquette is a major victory.
Nunn is a 6-2 lefty wing who averaged 15 points per game at Simeon last year and led his school to three Illinois High School Association state titles and was a key piece of the Team USA FIBA U-17 championship team this past summer.
