Findlay Prep (Henderson, NV) coach Mike Peck is anything but impractical. So when asked who he would pick if he could spend a few hours with anyone on Earth, it’s no wonder that Peck answered matter-of-factly, “Phil Jackson.”
Like Jackson’s L.A. Lakers, Peck’s Pilots are vying for a three-peat — a third straight ESPN Rise National High School Invitational title (widely considered the national championship of high school basketball). Peck knows the feat will be anything but easy. MORE >

Unprompted, we’ve randomly asked a handful of players who their toughest defensive assignment has been all summer, and the name that consistently pops up is Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) point guard Myck Kabongo, a rising senior who is committed to Texas. The reasoning?
He’s fast and quick and smart, and the consensus is that he blends all of those elements better than any other guard in the country.
“There’s no other player like him out there,” Word of God Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) combo guard Bishop Daniels said of Kabongo. “It’s hard to explain, but that guy is just really hard to defend.” MORE >

In 2007, Donnie Seals was working a dead end job at a finance company that was just starting to sniff the beginnings of a horrible economy. In 2008, he found himself packing up all of his belongings and heading to Las Vegas to shoot pictures, edit video and ultimately tell a fantastic story. In 2009, he was laid off. While his salary may be gone, the passion he has for this story still exists, and he’s been working hard to keep it alive through a documentary. The Season is the story of the Findlay Prep Basketball team in Henderson, Nevada – perhaps (currently) the best high school basketball program in the country. MORE >
