Isaiah Austin 3

Words.

On the high school level, even at its elite reaches, height is almost always the most valuable weapon and team and/or a player can posses. When the vast majority of high school basketball can by with 6-4 centers, the game changes when you come across true height – as in seven-footers. And when you get a seven-footer with coordination and basketball skills? Goodnight.

The crew at Bleacher Report has put together their 7 Best 7-Footers in High School Hoops. HighSchoolHoop.com readers should be very familiar with a bunch of these names. Check out their list here: MORE >

Texas’ Matt Jones Is The Best Shooter In The Nation

Words.

If you’ve been on the circuit at all this summer, you’ve definitely heard the name Matt Jones. The deadly shooter from DeSoto High School in Texas is playing with the Texas Titans this summer, and is in a class of his own when shooting from beyond the arc. The 6-4 shooting guard brings it at every event, including the LeBron James Skills Academy where he rained on the best players in the nation, and the Nike Peach Jam where he knocked down 17 triples in five games. Right now, the rising junior has offers from Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Houston and most recently Duke, and plans to take unofficial visits this fall to Kansas and Florida in addition to the Durham, Waco and Austin. Check him out in action…

Texas’ Isaiah Austin Puts On A Show In The Windy City

Words.

According to some outlets, Isaiah Austin is the No. 1 player in the Class of 2012. Whether or not you agree, he played like he deserved that top billing last weekend at the Best Buy Classic in Chicago. Definitely much improved from what we’ve seen in the past, the 7-footer from Grace Preparatory Academy (Arlington, Texas) – who is committed to Baylor – blocked a ton of shots and finished with force inside playing for Texas Pro, leading his team to the semifinals before being defeated by a stacked Indiana Elite squad.

Reebok ZigTech Slash - Quincy Miller Player Exclusive

Words.

After checking out the Reebok ZigTech Slash designed for John Wall‘s All-Star Weekend debut, it appears other people have been taking advantage of the option to customize their kicks. Most notably, top high school recruit (and Wall’s friend) Quincy Miller. Maybe it’s the Baylor colorway (where he’s headed next year), or maybe it’s his “Miller Time” signature detailed on the back, but either way I could get down. Check ‘em out: MORE >
