Anthony Davis

Words.

Monday’s action at the finale of the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., had some of the best matchups of the weekend. We saw some pretty amazing performances that will have many players’ rankings shoot up the charts.

Rather than simply reading the scouting reports, we decided to talk with some of the players and coaches to get their perspectives on some of the day’s top performers. Here is what they had to say: MORE >

Quincy Miller Suffers Knee Injury

Quincy Miller

Words.

Quincy Miller, HSH’s No. 2 ranked player in the nation, recently suffered a knee injury in Westchester (N.C.) High School’s 81-75 victory over city rivals High Point Christian on Dec. 9.

Miller, a versatile 6-9 senior forward who signed with Baylor in October, appeared to have injured himself slipping on a fast break while attempting a crossover in the second quarter. MORE >

O.J. Mayo’s Younger Brother Doin’ Work

Words.

It’s not always the case that NBA talent has prodigious siblings, but that seems to be the case here with O.J. Mayo‘s younger brother, Todd Mayo. Bello challenges Dwight Howard to dunk-off

Deuce Bello

Words.

As the youngest person and only current high schooler to make Dime’s ranking of the Top 25 dunkers in the world last month, Deuce Bello is high school’s resident standard bearer for above-the-rim antics. In this entry he discusses everything from the contact period to his upcoming visit to North Carolina for “Late Night with Roy.” MORE >

(Isaiah Austin, photo by adidas)

Words.

In a state known for putting a premium on size, Isaiah Austin may be the Next Big Thing to come out of Texas. The rising junior at Grace Prep Academy (Arlington) is one of the top centers in the country, and ranks 32nd overall in the latest High School Hoop national Top 50, which disregards class and position.

Austin verbally committed to Baylor last month at the adidas Nations camp. He averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 blocks per game as a junior at Grace Prep. MORE >
