We’re not so self-absorbed that we think our Top 10 list is gospel; let’s just say any argument that can be made to tweak this list can be countered masterfully.

Obviously, it’s tough to pick just 10 point guards over the course of a decade, but we decided the criteria would be based solely on what each player did at the high school level. We don’t care about college busts, NBA accolades, or catchy dances — it’s all about what a player did in high school and how dominant he was doing it. If you missed it on National Signing Day, John Calipari is rebuilding another monster at Kentucky. Right after five of his underclassmen went pro, he immediately landed Brandon Knight, the top senior PG in the country, and Michael Gilchrist, maybe the top player period in the 2011 junior class. In addition to them, Calipari has two blue chip commits in swingman Stacey Poole and Turkish big man Enes Kanter. It’s time to add one more. Brandon Knight Surprised By Alonzo Mourning In His Second Period Class

Earlier this week, Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) point guard Brandon Knight became just the fourth player to win back-to-back Gatorade National Player of the Year awards. Knight, who is ranked No. 2 in the High School Hoop national top 50, joins LeBron James, Greg Oden and Candace Parker in the elite club.
