Chicago will always hold a special place in basketball lore. Earlier this week, Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) point guard Brandon Knight became just the fourth player to win back-to-back Gatorade National Player of the Year awards. Knight, who is ranked No. 2 in the HSH national top 50, joins LeBron James, Greg Oden and Candace Parker in the elite club.

But that’s just half of the big news concerning Knight recently.

We also confirmed through a reliable source that Florida removed itself from contention in the recruiting battle for the 6-3 Knight, who averaged 31.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists this season. MORE >
