The first time they called his name, Daiquan Walker came strolling out to a packed house at Reebok Headquarters with the biggest smile on his face. Around Philly, he’s one of the up-and-coming Class of 2012 players, a 6-1 PG who can run a team and lockdown the opposition. But until his Reebok Breakout Challenge performance earlier this summer, he was unknown nationally. Not anymore. Big East schools are courting him now. They want him, the same way John Wall wanted him for a personal training session at Reebok Headquarters. Wall handpicked five standouts from the Breakout Challenge to come train with five pros this week. Walker, out of Philly’s Constitution High School, was one of them. MORE >

For a summer filled with so much uncertainty, one thing has become undeniably clear: Basketball has never been better. After an epic NBA Finals, pundits around the world saw July 1’s expiration of the collective bargaining agreement as the “End of Days.” Instead, we witnessed NBA superstars Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose and Chris Paul fly to the Philippines for an exhibition game; Kevin Durant, Brandon Jennings and John Wall hit every top-flight Pro-Am across the country; and two of the most well-known summer leagues – D.C.’s Goodman League and L.A.’s Drew League – battle for bragging rights in our nation’s capital.
But amongst all that, we could not help but find ourselves completely enraptured with an electric 5-7 point guard from Baltimore named Aquille Carr. MORE >

Before No. 1 overall pick John Wall dougied his way into his first NBA game, he was a relatively unknown, unranked kid from Raleigh, N.C. He had no scholarship offers, no invitations to exclusive camps and no real reputation. But back in 2007, one event changed all that for Wall: the Reebok Breakout Challenge in Chicago, Ill. Wall credits the camp for giving him his start and putting him on the path to becoming SEC Player of the Year at Kentucky and the NBA’s top pick. MORE >

After checking out the Reebok ZigTech Slash designed by top high school recruit (and John Wall’s close friend) Quincy Miller, peep the version customized by Miller’s future Baylor teammate, Deuce Bello. Wonder if he’ll try and wear these during the McDonald’s All-American Game… MORE >

After checking out the Reebok ZigTech Slash designed for John Wall‘s All-Star Weekend debut, it appears other people have been taking advantage of the option to customize their kicks. Most notably, top high school recruit (and Wall’s friend) Quincy Miller. Maybe it’s the Baylor colorway (where he’s headed next year), or maybe it’s his “Miller Time” signature detailed on the back, but either way I could get down. Check ‘em out: MORE >
