The folks at Kentucky can take a huge sigh of relief. The Wildcats remain on John Wall‘s list of potential destinations, which has been cut from seven schools all the way down to two according to a number of sources. And while those in Lexington continue to cross their fingers, the people at the University of Miami have to be pumping their fist that they snuck in at the last minute to be the other school still alive.

When Madisonville (K.Y.) North Hopkins High’s Jon Hood committed to Kentucky, he fully expected to be playing for Billy Gillispie, a coach struggling to prove that he was fit to lead the storied program. But when Gillispie got the boot on March 27 and the Wildcats named former Memphis coach John Calipari as their new coach, Hood, a 6-7 small forward, was all of a sudden playing for one of the biggest stars in the college coaching ranks.
Hood chatted with HighSchoolHoop.com about his thought process during the switch and why he thinks Kentucky has a chance to turn things around next season…

It’s official: Eric Bledsoe chose Kentucky over Memphis Wednesday.
Bledsoe, a 6-foot point guard, averaged 20 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while leading Parker High (Ala.) to the Class 5A state championship game.
