Here’s all you need to know: Jon Scheyer scored 21 points in 75 seconds in front of 3,990 fans. One of them just happened to be Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Jon’s team lost, but Scheyer finished the game with 52 points and left to a standing ovation from the opposing fans. Well deserved.

When the game is on the line and there’s only time for one more shot, it doesn’t require a coaching genius to surmise that the best chance you’ve got to emerge victorious is to get the ball into the hands of your scorer. Often times, that player is the shooting guard.

Just like when I ranked the Top 10 point guards of the last decade, this ranking of the 10 best two-guards of the decade is solely based on what each player accomplished in high school and AAU ball. I’m not factoring in college stats or NBA Draft position — it’s all about what you did before you got there, with a heavy emphasis on the AAU circuit against the best players in the country. Kyrie Irving: “I’m leaning toward Duke”

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that St. Patrick’s High (N.J.) point guard (and Bounce Magazine cover guy) Kyrie Irving told us last night that he was “leaning toward Duke.”

Remember we reported a while ago that Irving, who is rated the No. 6 prospect in the High School Hoop Top-50, would commit to Duke either during his official visit to Durham, which happened this past weekend, or shortly thereafter. It appears he’s going with the latter.

We caught up with Irving last night and asked him the tough, straightforward questions about his big visit, which included a matchup against former Duke great Jason Williams. MORE >
