The No. 6-ranked Florida Gators have a prime time slot on ESPN tonight against the Arizona Wildcats. Presumably, as is the case with pretty much every Florida opponent, Billy Donovan‘s ultra-entertaining backcourt of Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker will cause all sorts of headaches for Sean Miller‘s squad.
While you’re watching Boynton and Walker carve ‘em up, think about what they used to do to high school opponents not so long ago. These highlights can give you a pretty good idea: MORE >

When the game is on the line and there’s only time for one more shot, it doesn’t require a coaching genius to surmise that the best chance you’ve got to emerge victorious is to get the ball into the hands of your scorer. Often times, that player is the shooting guard.
Just like when I ranked the Top 10 point guards of the last decade, this ranking of the 10 best two-guards of the decade is solely based on what each player accomplished in high school and AAU ball. I’m not factoring in college stats or NBA Draft position — it’s all about what you did before you got there, with a heavy emphasis on the AAU circuit against the best players in the country. Let the debate begin… MORE >

Ryan Harrow paces around the shiny hardwood floor of the Dean Dome, in Chapel Hill, N.C., just before he leads the Atlanta Celtics through a routine warm-up. He claps his hands, he bobs his head from side to side, he hops in one spot.
He’s loose.

What originally seemed like a kick in the shins for Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators could end up as a blessing. A couple of days ago, Nick Calathes opted to take a $1.1 million per year deal to play for Panathinaikos Athens, thereby leaving Florida without a potential SEC Player of the Year point guard. But there’s a chance that it ends up working out pretty well for UF. Calathes’ departure opens up a scholarship, which could be filled by the only remaining five-star prospect on the board, Lincoln’s Lance Stephenson.
