Sean Miller is rolling through the recruiting circuit heading into only his third season at Arizona. On Monday, the Wildcats’ head coach pulled in his biggest recruit yet, landing a top-5 overall prospect in the Class of 2012, Brandon Ashley, to a verbal commitment.
The 6-8, 215-pound power forward transferred this summer to Findlay Prep in Nevada following his time at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, and chose the Arizona over Oregon, UCLA and Kentucky. Scooping Nike U and the country’s best recruiter in Kentucky’s John Calipari is surely a sign of things to come for Miller at Arizona. MORE >

Lance Stephenson could have made Florida a National Championship contender. He could have helped Billy Donovan compete in the ultra-tough SEC. But it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. Lance is believed to be at the front of a pending NCAA investigation, which sources say that is the reason Florida has decided to pull out of the race. “There’s a zero percent chance we take him,” a UF source told Gary Parish of CBS Sports.

Within the last couple of days, we’ve seen a monster turn-of-events in the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes. First, reports came out that he’s turned down both of his top suitors St. John’s and Maryland. On Sunday, it seemed like Memphis was going to make up for the loss of Xavier Henry with a commitment from Lance. But since then, Arizona has come in guns blazing after snaring fellow New Yorker Kevin Parrom.
