He wasn’t afraid, wasn’t shy. He went right at the NBA guys, and had his own little game-within-the-game going on against John Wall. Darrick Wood held his own, and did a few things to stand out. At one point, Wood put down a sideways windmill where it seemed like he jumped, met the rim, then chilled for a split second, before bringing the ball all the way around for a finish. MORE >

IMG Academy (FL) senior Phil Greene is the latest recruit from the Class of 2011 to give a verbal commitment to St. John’s. The 6-2 combo guard, who is a great playmaker with a high basketball IQ, chose the Red Storm over offers from Kansas, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Marquette and Penn State.
Greene joins a stacked 2011 class which already boasts eight other recruits, including Jakarr Sampson (Brewster Academy, NH), Maurice Harkless (South Kent Prep, CT) and Dom Pointer (Quality Education Academy, NC). MORE >

But for a program that has fallen on hard times, convincing high school stars who want to win to sign a Letter of Intent is challenging, no matter the location. MORE >
