Kansas’ Buddy Hield Finds His Offer List Expanding

Words.

Buddy Hield was known around the college coaches of the Big 12 going into the July recruiting period, but it was questionable how serious big school programs were on the Class of 2012 guard from Bel Aire, Kan. That was until Hield began shining most recently at the Best Buy Classic in Chicago, where he’s playing more like his ESPN ranking (four stars, 21st best shooting guard) rather than the grade Scout gave him (two stars, not ranked).

“I’ll be a Blue Devil next year,” Irving told ESPNU. “It was just my relationship with him (Coach Mike Krzyzewski) and the whole coaching staff. I have a great relationship with everybody. When I went on my official visit it felt like home. It’s the place for me.” MORE >

Kyrie Irving: “I’m leaning toward Duke”

Kyrie Irving

Words.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that St. Patrick’s High (N.J.) point guard (and Bounce Magazine cover guy) Kyrie Irving told us last night that he was “leaning toward Duke.”

Remember we reported a while ago that Irving, who is rated the No. 6 prospect in the High School Hoop Top-50, would commit to Duke either during his official visit to Durham, which happened this past weekend, or shortly thereafter. It appears he’s going with the latter.

We caught up with Irving last night and asked him the tough, straightforward questions about his big visit, which included a matchup against former Duke great Jason Williams. MORE >
