Chicago Legend Mac Irvin Dies

Some very sad news for the high school basketball world came out this holiday weekend – Chicago basketball legend Mac Irvin passed away on Christmas Eve at the age of 74 after complications from diabetes.
Known in the city as “The Godfather,” Mac built and ran the Mac Irvin Fire. Started in the early 1990′s the Fire have always one of the country’s top AAU programs. Pretty much any Midwest high school basketball player of any notoriety has worked with Mac or one of his programs over the past several decades.
